Blue River has two set-apart ministers within our fellowship.
Our Pastor since 1990 is Bro. Craig Alan Myers. He and his wife Laura have four children, one of whom is serving in Brethren Volunteer Service in Lewiston, Maine, and three whom they home educate. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and Ashland Theological Seminary. He also received ministry training through the training program of the Western Pennsylvania District.
Bro. Myers is chairman of the Brethren Revival Fellowship and president of the Whitley County Ministerial Association. He teaches at the annual Brethren Bible Institute at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, is assistant editor of the BRF Witness, and wrote a commentary on the New Testament book of Philippians in the Brethren New Testament Commentary series.
He has served on the Northern Indiana District Board, and was chairman of the District Ministry Commission. He was moderator of the 2011 Northern Indiana District Conference, and preaches revivals and Bible Conferences around the country. He is a panelist and host of the popular “Ask the Pastor” television program on the Northeast Indiana outlet of TCT-TV.
Bro. Myers trusted Christ and was baptized in 1977 through the Asher Glade Church of the Brethren (Friendsville, Maryland), was was elected to the ministry in 1985 and ordained in 1991 through the same congregation.
Bro. Travis Hartman began service as our Associate Pastor for Youth on January 16, 2008 and concluded August 31, 2013. Licensed to the ministry by Blue River in 2007, he is a graduate of Huntington University with a degree in Bible and religion. He is married to Brittany, and they have a son, Micah and a daughter, Kyleigh. Bro. Travis has completed a M.A. degree through Bethel College, Mishawaka, Indiana, and will soon be approved for ordination pending completion of all requirements.
